Kids have a high metabolism rate and hence like to eat in short intervals. As a parent it is important to make sure that your kids eat healthy and don’t munch on unhealthy snacks. Many convenience foods are easily available at the super market; however, it is important to choose foods that are nutritious and healthy for your child. Convenience food is readily available, in a huge variety and has many healthy options available. Some of the popular healthy convenience food items available are as follows:
  • Cereal: To curb those hunger pangs you can always serve a bowl of cereal to your kid. Cereals are not only filling but also have a high nutritious value that is rich in fibers. You can pick from a variety of cereals available in the market in different shapes and colors. 
  • Hot dogs: Hot dogs are a popular convenience food which is available in a variety of sizes and lengths. Sausages for hot dogs are made of beef, pork, chicken or soya for the vegetarians. Many stores offer ready to eat hot dogs with whole wheat bread which is an even healthier option.
  • Soups: Soups are a great healthy choice for kids. They are nutritious, delicious, low in fat content and available in a huge variety at convenience stores.   • Cheese sauces: Children love cheese and there are varieties of cheese sauces available that make the perfect toppings on nachos, fries, sandwiches, burgers and even hot dogs.
